Lawrence Gunther, North America's only blind professional angler, is the host of both Feel the Bite TV and the Blue Fish Radio show. Lawrence's fishing insight is informed by having competed in more than 100 competitive fishing tournaments, as a commercial fisher on the North Atlantic, the Canadian Arctic, as well as in northern Sweden, where he conducted environmental research as part of his Masters.
Lawrence’s fishing success relies on his enhanced ability to feel the Bite. Leveraging his full range of non-visual senses also enables Lawrence to envisage the aquatic world hiding beneath the waves. A leader in accessible technology and a recipient of awards including the Governor General’s Merritorious Service Metal, Lawrence is the only Canadian to have ever won an international blind sailing regatta, and is the inventor of the world’s first fishing boat capable of being operated without the use of sight.
Recently, Lawrence completed filming, “What Lies Below,” a documentary researched and written by Lawrence, exploring the most significant fish and water issues affecting Canada. In addition to being one of Canada's top-sponsored anglers, Lawrence serves as both the President of “Blue fish Canada”, and holds a seat as Board Chair for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) Lake Joseph Centre.
David Chong is widely recognized as one of Canada's top competitive tournament anglers! He is also an avid multi species angler and is a strong advocate for affordable, accessible angling for all! Most recently David and his tournament partner Doug Brownridge were crowned the 2015 Renegade Bass Classic XX Champions. In a sport where you’ll never stop learning, David loves sharing his vast fishing knowledge and stories with anglers of all ages, beginners and pros alike!
Steve Barnett is an avid multi species fisherman. He fishes 12 months of the year. Favourite species is bass and is a former team of the year and classic champion in Renegade Bass.
Dr. Steven Cooke

"BIG" JIM McLAUGHLIN
“Big” Jim as he is affectionately known has been an integral part of the Canadian sportfishing scene for over 30 years and shows no signs of slowing down. Having first gained notoriety as a tournament angler, “Big” Jim was vaulted into the sport fishing spotlight with two CFT Canadian Classics – Canada’s premier tournament title along with a slew of tournament victories numbering 29 to his credit. Following his tournament success, “Big” Jim formed what has become Canada’s largest FREE fishing publication – Just Fishing.
